The Intercontinental Ensemble is a foundation based in the Netherlands.

The Intercontinental Ensemble is a foundation based in the Netherlands, known as a 'Stichting' in Dutch.

The objective of Stichting Intercontinental Ensemble is to give performances; to stimulate music-making by, among other things, offering educational programmes and enabling participation in ensembles; and to carry out all further activities that are related to or conducive to the above in the broadest sense.

ANBI

Intercontinental Ensemble is an ANBI Foundation. If an ANBI is a cultural institution, it can obtain the status of 'cultural ANBI'. To qualify as a cultural ANBI, the institution must be at least 90% active in the cultural field. Donors to cultural ANBIs have an extra tax advantage, as an additional gift deduction applies to them.

Board Treasurer

The Intercontinental Ensemble — an ambitious, hard-working chamber music company operating (inter)nationally with roots in IJburg — is looking for a new treasurer. Is that you, or do you know someone who wants to put their financial expertise to use and feels connected to classical music? We'd love to talk with you!

What you'll do

You help shape the ensemble's financial course and support the board with the budget, annual accounts and subsidy accountability. You safeguard the organisation's financial health and flag in good time where adjustments are needed.

Who we're looking for

Someone with financial knowledge and an affinity for (classical) music or culture. Experience in a board role is a plus, but not a requirement — we look above all at commitment and thinking power. A diverse background and perspective fit seamlessly with the international character of the ensemble. This role is also a great opportunity to take your first steps at board level, or to put your financial expertise to work in the cultural sector for the first time.

Time commitment

Around 2 hours per month.
